Monumental studio - third year studio
The focus of this studio is the new united monumental path of Jerusalem, from Kfar Shaul - Canfei Nesharim to Damascus Gate of the old city.
The project includes 8 kilometer route that were split into 10 segments. each student chose and designed one segment.
All the participant students decided on general guidelines, for example to include underground train rail which crosses over most of the segments.
The presented segment is Nachlaot neighborhood which includes two well known monuments - Mahane Yehuda market and Gerard Behar Center.
The plan extended the market area and added auditorium building to Gerard Behar Center and new underground train station.
The intersection of the train station, the market and Gerard Behar Center created the "Gerard Behar piazza" which is the new cultural square of Nachlaot .
